  • Willow Park Celebrates US G3 Winning Graduate

    Tuesday, 30th April 2024

Scone’s venerated 700-acre broodmare property Willow Park Stud is celebrating another first – an American graded stakes winner at Santa Anita in California. The result was made even more special as it came in the debut performance of Uncorked for her new US trainer Phil D’Amato where she was ridden by Frankie Dettori. By Pierro out of New Zealand-bred Iffraaj mare Piaf, Uncorked is a 4YO mare whose grand dam Arletty (Centaine) won the Gr2 Queen of the Turf Stakes and Gr2 Villiers Stakes in Australia as well as a Group 3 double in New Zealand. Uncorked was a $130,000 yearling consigned by Willow Park Stud at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale where she was purchased by renowned judges Gai Waterhouse, Adrian Bott and Bruce Slades’ Kestrel Thoroughbreds. Just two starts after claiming a maiden success at Sale, Uncorked was given a shot at Australian Group company in the Gr3 Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield prior to her export to the United States. Her latest success was her third since leaving Australia and followed a Listed placing in the Together Forever Stakes at Aqueduct at her previous start. She is raced by The Elkstone Group, LLC (Stuart Grant) and now boasts earning of over $350,000. Helmed by Glenn Burrows, Willow Park Stud has 19 entries for Inglis’ Australian Broodmare Sale and 22 entries for Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
