Ng Sha Tin Treble Puts Him Back in Front

Trainer Pierre Ng won a treble of races at Sha Tin on Sunday to put him back in front on the tight Hong Kong Trainer’s Premiership for this season, and the trio was headlined by winning both feature Group races races on offer, reports scmp.com. Ng now has a 65-63 advantage over Francis Lui. In only his second season training, 40-year-old Ng said it was unlikely that the championship would be decided before the final meeting of the term on July 14. “The plan for June, there’s four Group Threes. [I’m] lucky to get three of them and unlucky not to get four,” Ng said. “We’re happy enough. The stable planned for that and hopefully we can head on to the last day. I’ll wait until the last meeting, the last 10 races to say.
