Stokes Filly Chasing Celebrity Status

Last seen on race day when finishing third in the Gr1 Thousand Guineas behind Written Tycoon filly Odeum, the Phillip Stokes-trained Instant Celebrity (Not A Single Doubt) is back in work with her immediate aim being South Australia’s Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes on May 1. Unbeaten in her first four starts, culminating in a length win over eventual Gr1 Victoria Oaks winner Personal (Fastnet Rock) in the Gr2 Tranquil Star at Caulfield, Stokes has an ambitious program mapped out for the Mill Park Stud-foaled filly if she comes through her first major assignment in good order with the Goodwood Handicap and possible the Tatt’s Tiara, both at Group 1 level, on the cards. “We will get her going here at Pakenham probably with a jump out and a trial and then the plan is to send her to Adelaide,” Stakes said to racing.com. “At this stage it is likely she would resume in the Listed Redelva Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday April 17.” Instant Celebrity is the fourth runner and winner out of the dual Listed-winning Starcraft mare Celebrity Girl, who is now in the ownership of Aquis Farm, having been covered by Gr1 All Aged Stakes winner Pierata last season.
