  • Hot Weather Policy for Goulburn & Wagga

    Monday, 25th January 2021

Due to a forecast heatwave, Racing NSW has implemented its hot weather policy for two of the state’s country tracks. The state’s racing body advised that as temperatures are forecast to reach 37 degrees at Goulburn on Monday (25 January 2021), Level 1 of the Hot Weather Policy will be invoked. The same applies to Wagga's meeting on Tuesday with a forecast of 37 degrees. As a result, pre-race parades will be shortened on the day. Trainers are reminded that runners must be on-course at least 90 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of their respective races, as this allows sufficient time to cool the horse before the race. It is particularly important for those horses traveling significant distances to race meetings, allowing them time to be actively cooled, if necessary, prior to racing.
