Savabeel Squeezing Life out of Opposition

Just when it looked like Savabeel’s utter dominance of the New Zealand sires’ scene couldn’t be any more pronounced, the Waikato Stud stalwart is adding insult to injury. The son of Zabeel was Champion New Zealand sire for 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. Also having another excellent year in Australia with his exports and raiders, Savabeel’s attempt to record his seventh consecutive local premiership has seen him burst clear at the top of the sires’ table with 45 percent greater earnings than nearest rival Sacred Falls, his ill-fated Waikato Stud stable mate whose progeny continue to impress. Since Boxing Day, and excluding a number of Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 placings (three last weekend alone), Savabeel’s offspring have won the following Group and Listed races in New Zealand and Australia:
