  • Portland Sky Helms Big Day for MM Graduates

    Monday, 22nd February 2021

Meanwhile, the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate dead heat win by Deep Field 3YO Portland Sky (see above item) provided one of many highlights on a cracking Caulfield card for Magic Millions-sold gallopers. Earlier on the card, Artorius (Flying Artie-Gracie’s Lass, by Redoute’s Choice) produced a sensational last to first performance to capture the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes for trainers Sam & Anthony Freedman, and jockey Luke Currie. The wins of Artorius and Portland Sky were celebrated by the team from Newgate Farm who stand their respective sires Flying Artie (Artie Schiller) and Deep Field (Northern Meteor). Meanwhile, Yes Baby Yes (Dissident-Exabelle, by Exceed and Excel) and Paradee (Epaulette-Icy Heels, by Medaglia d’Oro), who both campaigned over the Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast, returned to Melbourne to win Group 2 features - the Angus Armanasco Stakes and Peter Young Stakes, respectively.
