  • Dee Hoping Prague Will Get Him Another Gr1

    Wednesday, 3rd March 2021

Jockey Michael Dee is hoping his outsider's luck stays with him for this weekend's Gr1 Newmarket Handicap, reports racing.com. Dee rode Lunar Fox (Foxwedge-Grant's Moon, by Malibu Moon) to win the Gr1 Australian Guineas last Saturday at huge odds of $301, and will take the ride on 3YO Prague (Redoute's Choice-Purely Spectacular, by Pins), who is currently priced at $100 for the Flemington sprint. "He trialed really well up in Sydney behind Jungle Edge. He's classed as an outsider on Saturday but I think he's certainly going very well," said Dee. "Annabel Neasham's team is flying up in Sydney so hopefully she can bring him down here in good order." The Newmarket will be Prague's second run for Neasham after ran third in the Gr3 Eskimo Prince Stakes at her first start for the stable. Initially trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Prague won two Group 3 races as a 2YO and ran second behind King's Legacy (Redoute's Choice-Breakfast in Bed, by Hussonet) in the Gr1 Sires' Produce Stakes. After a spell, he had two starts as a spring 3YO before switching to the Neasham stable.
