  • More Firsts in Other Rosehill Group 1 Races

    Monday, 29th March 2021

The winners of both the Gr1 George Ryder Stakes and the Gr1 Galaxy picked up their first Group victories at Rosehill on Saturday, reports racing.com. After beating Nature Strip (Nicconi-Strikeline, by Desert Sun) in the Gr2 Challenge Stakes last start, Eduardo (Host-Blushing, by Fantastic Light) proved he is a sprinter of genuine note when posting a scintillating finish in the Gr1 Galaxy Handicap by 3.5-lengths. "The horse is a very good horse. He’s made a statement today, he made it the other day, actually, but it was a statement not taken up by all,” said trainer Joe Pride who was bemused by the lack of respect afforded his charge before the race. "There’s better ahead of this horse, there’s no doubt about that. He hasn’t hit his top yet. Terravista is the best horse I‘ve ever trained. His acceleration was absolutely amazing. This horse is probably second at this stage but he might get there." Meanwhile, the Gr1 George Ryder Stakes provided a bit of a boilover when $26 chance Think It Over (So You Think-Personal Service, by Zabeel) picked up his first Group 1 success, becoming the seventh Group 1 winner for So You Think (High Chaparral-Triassic, by Tights) whose season just gets better. "Absolutely terrific, over the moon," trainer Kerry Parker said. "And just a gun ride by Bossy today, he took all the shortcuts again which is what he’s been able to do on him.”
