$500,000 Yearling Turgenev To Debut

Offered through the Yulong draft at the 2020 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale where he was knocked down to Colm Santry for $500,000, the Chris Waller-trained 2YO colt Turgenev (I Am Invincible-Gypsy Diamond, by Not A Single Doubt) makes his debut on Wednesday in the Yarraman Easter Yearling Maiden (1200m) at Warwick Farm. With three barrier trials under his belt including taking out his most recent by an impressive 2-length margin over 740m at Warwick Farm, the colt is the second foal of the Group 2-winning, Group 1-placed Not A Single Doubt mare Gypsy Diamond from the family of Gr3-winning juvenile Finance Tycoon (Written Tycoon). Raced by the likes of Coolmore Stud, Sir P J Vela, Chris Waller Racing, Woppitt Bloodstock and Peachester Lodge, who also race the Golden Slipper-performed Home Affairs (I Am Invincible), the colt is likely to start one of the favourites on debut, where he will have the services of James McDonald where he will break from barrier six in the 11-strong field.
