  • Redoute's Choice Stakes for Unbeaten Najmaty

    Thursday, 1st April 2021

Breeders Emirates Park have been enjoying a fantastic run of late and another homebred looking to continue that form is the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Najmaty (I Am Invincible-Najoom, by Northern Meteor) who heads to Caulfield for Saturday's Listed Redoute's Choice Stakes. Successful on debut over 1000m on the Kensington track, defeating Sonnet Star (Star Turn) who then claimed the Wellington Boot at his next start, Najmaty is the second foal to race and second winner out of the dual Gr3 winner Najoom (Northern Meteor), from the extended family of Gr1 winners Criterion (Sebring) and Comin' Through (Fastnet Rock). With form lines from many different avenues, as well as a pair of unraced runners, the Peter Moody-trained He's The Ultimate (Fastnet Rock-Spirit Of Heaven, by Savabeel) holds plenty of interest. Trained by Moody early on in her career, the colt's dam Spirit Of Heaven is a winning half-sister to another runner that the stable put the polish on, the Gr1 Schweppes Oaks winner Lights Of Heaven (Zabeel). Newgate Farm's Capitalist (Written Tycoon), the leading first season sire on winners, will be represented by the Lloyd Kennewell-trained $500,000 yearling purchase Marine One (Capitalist-Golconda, by Snitzel) who drops back from contesting the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude at his most recent run where he finished just over 2.5-lengths from last week's Gr1 Golden Slipper runner-up Anamoe (Street Boss), the current favourite for next week's Gr1 Sires' Produce Stakes.
