  • Dittman Keen to Win Dad's Race

    Thursday, 22nd April 2021

Jockey Luke Dittman is keen to win the race named for his father, the Listed Mick Dittman Plate, this Saturday at Doomben, reports racingqueensland.com.au. "Everyone is chasing Group 1s but for me personally, it would be pretty big if I could win the Mick Dittman Plate one day," Luke said. "For us and the history books in our family, it would be special, there would not be many jockeys that can say they had won a race named after their father. It would be pretty special if I could get up on Saturday. There are not many jockeys with their boys going around riding these days, so it would be nice to pick it up, to be honest." Dittman doesn't have a ride in the race at this stage, having been booked for Chris Waller trainer Clairvue Star (Sebring-Missy Longstocking, by Sequalo) who will run in a lower grade race instead. Mick Dittman, known during his halcyon riding days as the The Enforcer, has recently returned to Singapore after a fourteen-month stint in Australia.
