The nominations for next month's Gr1 Sangster Stakes include an intriguing contest between father Anthony Cummings and son James Cummings, reports racing.com. The race, scheduled for 1 May, include Anthony Cummings' Group 2-winning mare Libertini (I Am Invincible-Aloha, by Encosta de Lago) and Group 2- winning mare Mizzy (Zoustar-Missy Cummings, by Magnus), while Godolphin's trainer Cummings has last season's Gr1 Thousand Guineas winner Flit (Medaglia d'Oro-Glissade, by Redoute's Choice) and Listed winner Athiri (Lonhro-Retsina, by Redoute's Choice). Three of these runners, LIbertini, Mizzy, and Flit are the three highest rated horses among the nominations, with Athiri rating in seventh. There are 33 horses in the first round of nominations for the Group 1 sprint. The race was won last year by Inglis Digital bargain buy Bella Vella (Commands) who was recently retired.
