Sisstar (Zoustar-Solar Charged, by Charge Forward) is ready to shake off the ‘full- sister to Sunlight’ tag and earn her own elite victory, reports racingsa.com.au. The 4YO mare won the Listed Bel Esprit Handicap over 1100m at her last start and will head to Morphettville for the Gr1 TAB Classic this weekend. “1200m is new territory for her; all her form has been under that,” co-trainer Tony McEvoy said. “But looking at how strong she was at the end of 1100 the other day, I’m very pleased to be going there, and yeah I think she’ll be very competitive.” Sisstar has won six of her 15 starts and was a $600,000 yearling thanks to the deeds of her older sister Sunlight. Sunlight won 11 races, including three at Group 1 level – the Coolmore Stud Stakes, Newmarket Handicap, and William Reid Stakes – before being sold as a broodmare prospect for $4.2 million to Coolmore. Sisstar is trained by the same trainers as Sunlight and will be ridden in the Gr1 TAB Classic by Willie Pike. “Willie rode her well, he liked her,” McEvoy said. “And he was quite amazed how tough she was. We’re very pleased to have him stay with her."
