  • Century of Wins for Chris Parnham

    Friday, 7th May 2021

Jockey Chris Parnham celebrated his hundredth win for the season when promising filly Tri For Us (Vital Equine-Tritri, by Tribu) won the Amelia Park Lodge Handicap at Ascot on Wednesday, reports rwwa.com.au. "I thought today she was just as good as she was in her maiden win," Parnham said. "I think she still has a bit of learning to do as well, so I think she is going to be a nice horse. She relaxes really well and will get out to a mile easy enough. She is just professional and that will take her a long way." Trainer Adam Durrant will now aim her at the Listed Belmont Guineas on June 19 and the Listed Belmont Oaks on July 3. "She might have a bit of business having a go at the Guineas or even something like the Belmont Oaks," said Durrant. "I can see her sitting up on the tempo over the 2000m and handling it just fine. She has shown us at home that she has got good stamina and even today the way she went through the line and up the hill after the line is something I like to look for." Tri For Us has won two of her three starts, and ran second on debut at her other start. She has no official auction record, and Durrant said, "She had some pretty bad lacerations that she did as a young horse, probably as a weanling or yearling. We got them x-rayed and scanned and the vet told us not to touch it and was no hope. She took my eye and I said from what she was going to cost us let's roll the dice and have a crack. She wasn't lame, she was sound. She's a beautiful mover and has never stopped showing us good ability."
