  • Change of Plans for Rubisaki

    Wednesday, 12th May 2021

Patrick Payne trained 4YO mare Rubisaki (Rubick-Senro Kisaki, by Danehill Dancer) will have one more run in South Australia before heading to Queensland, reports racing.com. "We decided to do that to keep her against the mares, and it looks a good option for her," managing owner Joe O'Neill said. "From there she will head to Brisbane and head to the Dane Ripper Stakes, and then onto the Tatts Tiara. The Group 1 for her up there is the mares' race. She will be well and truly in that." Winner of eight of her fourteen starts, Rubisaki ran third in the Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m in her last start behind Instant Celebrity (Not a Single Doubt-Celebrity Girl, by Starcraft) and Subpoenaed (Rip Van Winkle-Notice Received, by O'Reilly). Her highest level win was in the 2020 Gr2 AV Kewney Stakes over 1400m. Also winner of the $1 million Inglis 3YO Sprint, Rubisaki was an $85,000 purchase from the Edinburgh Park draft at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
