Weekend Black Type Premiership Schedule

Although the Gr1 Doomben 10,000 at Doomben and Gr1 The Goodwood at Morphettville – both run over 1200m – are the highlight races of the weekend, there is a huge spread of supporting feature races spread across Australia, plus a couple in New Zealand. Ironically, the lone black-type event at Flemington in Melbourne is a Listed race that will be one of the must-watch races for many pundits. Worth a not inconsequential $400,000, the $240,000 first prize for the Andrew Ramsden (2800m) is the icing on the cake for the winning connections. Far more valuable are the golden-ticket win-and-you're-in conditions that will see the victor guaranteed a start in November's Gr1 Melbourne Cup (3200m).
