  • Back to The Future for Promising Kinane

    Wednesday, 2nd June 2021

One-time boom galloper Kinane (Reliable Man-Tres Rapide, by Nom du Jeu) is returning back to Mick Kent, his original trainer, for an upcoming racetrack campaign. Kent part owns the gelding, but planned to go overseas for holiday and had him transferred to the star trainer Chris Waller. However, due to Covid-19, Kent had to cancel his holiday plans but he still sent Kinane off to the Sydney autumn and Brisbane winter carnival with Waller. Kinane ended up with four months off due to bruising and is now back home with Kent. "He ran at Caulfield and jarred up so Chris suggested we get him bone-scanned," Kent explained to racenet.com.au. He has been back with Kent for enough time to have done two jump outs at Cranbourne, but Kinane intends to avoid Caulfield. "I have no plans with him at all other than to run him at Flemington over the winter. Flemington or Sandown, one of the good tracks. If he shows a bit, he can go back out and we'll get him ready for the spring."
