  • Palaisipan Looking to Extended Unbeaten Run

    Friday, 18th June 2021

Three from three, Chris Munce's progressive 3YO filly Palaisipan (So You Think-Touch Of Red, by Fastnet Rock) is aiming to extend her unbeaten run when she contests Saturday's Schweppes TL Cooney 3YO (1350m) at Ipswich. Passed in for $100,000 at the 2019 Inglis Classic yearling Sale from the draft of Gooree Park Stud, Palaisipan is out of an unraced Fastnet Rock three-quarter-sister to Gr2 Todman Stakes winner and Gr1 sire Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock) from the family of Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes-winning and Gr1 sire Northern Meteor (Encosta de Lago). Impressive last time out when ridden by Glen Boss over 1350m at Doomben, when fighting all the way to the line, jockey Craig Williams will take the mount on Saturday and from barrier 7 of 11, after two withdrawals, the options are there to go forward to try and attain a position just off the leaders. Dropping back in class from his fourth-place finish in the Gr3 Fred Best Classic behind Apache Chase (Better Than Ready) and Ayrton (Iffraaj), the Tony Gollan-trained Palladas (I Am Invincible-Tabliope, by Commands) looks on track for a positive run. The Steven O'Dea and Matthew Hoysted-trained last start winner Tumbler Ridge (Spill The Beans-Factor Fiction, by Untouchable) will be out to continue the excellent season for the former, ill-fated Aquis sire Spill The Beans (Snitzel) who is joint leader on the second season sires table by individual winners.
