Winx Half to Continue Journey Today

Having had an inauspicious start to her career, valuable Winx half-sister Covent Garden is set to continue her racing journey with new trainer Peter Moody at Pakenham on Tuesday. Heading south from the premium yard of Chris Waller, Covent Garden (Exceed and Excel-Vegas Showgirl, by Al Akbar) has had five starts to date, with her best effort being a third placing at Newcastle in early October last year. Her only public outing for Moody has seen her run a credible second over 800m at Pakenham on May 25 and, having been withdrawn from a dual engagement at Donald on Saturday, heads back to familiar territory to attempt to break her maiden. Leading jockey Mark Zahra takes the mount over 1400m, where barrier 3 should allow him multiple options as to where to place Covent Garden in the run.
