  • Jockey Cahill All Set for Tiara Hustle

    Wednesday, 23rd June 2021

Recording a stunning victory in the Gr2 Dane Ripper Stakes last time out, the Jason Warren and Dean Krongold-trained Brooklyn Hustle (Starspangledbanner-Joint Aspiration, by Pivotal) is right on target for Saturday's Gr1 Tattersall's Tiara, the final Group 1 of the season. The only facet that was in limbo, which has now been sorted, was the jockey booking. Craig Williams, who rode the Rosemont Stud-campaigned mare in her last start victory, has decided to part ways and join up with last start Gr1 Stradbroke winner Tofane (Ocean Park) instead. That left it open for leading jockey Jamie Kah to partner Brooklyn Hustle, But then with the COVID situation in Victoria, Kah decided to stay in Victoria with the ride going to Queensland jockey Michael Cahill. "We went with some local knowledge," Warren said. "We are very happy, he knows his way around there and the best thing is Michael can come and have a feel of her on Tuesday morning at trackwork, we will be set to go then. It makes a difference with her, we needed someone who is patient and has good hands so I think he is the man for the job." Having previously been kept at 1200m and below, her victory in the Dane Riper was the first time she was stepped up to 1300m, and the ease with which she took the prize has connections confident that the 1400m of the Tatt's Taira will pose no issue, and finally deliver the talented mare that elite level score.
