Intriguing First Starters on Display Today

The Harry Angel at Darley Maiden 2YO Handicap over 1100m today at Warwick Farm features an impressive collection of youngsters making their debut. Of the fourteen runners, six are making their first starts, led by $500,000 Magic Millions graduate Starman (Zoustar-You're Dreamin, by Commands) who is a trial winner for trainer Chris Waller. Trial winner I Am Lethal (I Am Invincible-Steps in Time, by Danehill Dancer) is the fourth foal of Gr1 winner Steps in Time (Danehill Dancer-Rare In Sight, by O'Reilly), while Clemenceau (Capitalist-Capital Commander, by Commands) is also a trial winner. The early favourite is the most experienced horse in the field, King of Sparta (I Am Invincible-Octavia, by Holy Roman Emperor) who ran fourth in the Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes at his last start (see below), and he is also the most expensive horse in the race being a $700,000 yearling from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
