With three weeks of the 2020-21 racing year still to run, jockey Jamie Kah has elevated herself to elite status by claiming her hundredth metropolitan victory for the season. In so doing, she eclipsed the record held for 20 years by Brett Prebble to become the first ever rider in Melbourne with three figures against her name. Rated a $1.10 chance to ‘get the job done’ at Caulfield on Saturday after having a ‘shit’ day at Sandown on Wednesday where she was winless, Kah struck early when landing the spoils aboard favoured Deep Speed (Deep Field) for trainers Tony and Calvin McEvoy in Race 2, before following up four races later with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Red Santa (Redwood). With the metaphorical monkey off her back, Kah can now swing for the bleachers without a care in the world until 31 July.
