Loves Only Me Family Stars in Japan

Meanwhile, high profile Japanese broodmare Loves Only Me (Storm Cat-Monevassia, by Mr. Prospector) has once again been in the limelight at the 2021 JHRA July Sale, with her Hearts Cry (Sunday Silence) foal selling for $2.5 million yesterday. A granddaughter of multiple European champion Miesque and  a half-sister to Champion European 2YO filly Rumplestilstkin, Loves Only Me is also closely related to multiple Group 1 performers Kingmambo, East of The Moon, Tapestry, Alpha Centauri and Alpha Star. She is the dam of Gr1 Japanese Oaks record-holder Loves Only You who also won this year’s Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin. Among Loves Only Me’s six Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) full-siblings is international Group 1 winner Real Steel who shuttled to Arrowfield Stud in 2019. Also runner-up in the Gr1 Japanese 2000 Guineas and placed in a further three Group 1 races, his first Japanese yearlings at the sale included a $1.9 million colt, with his 7 yearlings sold averaging $725,000. Real Steel's first, and only, Australian crop will be sold at the 2022 yearling sales.
