Juveniles Out in Force at Wyong

Wyong's Race 5 today, the TAB.com.au 2YO Maiden Handicap over 1000m, features several youngsters of note, including early favourite Rapid Response (Defcon-Coupe Express, by Ne Coupez Pas), a half-sister to Group 1 winner Pippie (Written Tycoon). From the first crop of group winner Defcon (Choisir-Nuclear Force, by Encosta de Lago) who stood at Eureka Stud, Rapid Response sold for $70,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, approximately a month before her older sister won the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate. Also on debut today is Typhoon Taavi (I Am Invincible-My Amelia, by Redoute's Choice) who is a half-sibling to Group 1 winner The Mission (Choisir). Typhoon Taavi wasn't offered at public auction. Also short in the betting are the experienced runners Mabel (Dream Ahead), Single Honor (Not a Single Doubt), Hauraki Gulf (Written Tycoon), and The Globe (Frosted) all around the $5 mark while $320,000 yearling Vindication (Deep Field-Fragrant Storm, by Exceed and Excel) is on debut and is the other one under double figures in the betting.
