Marine One Moves to Maher–Eustace Stable

Stakes-placed behind Finance Tycoon (Written Tycoon) and Ingratiating (Frosted) on debut in the Gr3 Maribyrnong Plate, the rising 3YO colt Marine One (Capitalist-Golconda, by Snitzel) has moved to the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable ahead of his Spring campaign due to a change in ownership. Having had a decent break, Eustace is predicting that the colt has the capabilities to step up in the Spring. "Eustace stated to racing.com. "He is a horse that just needed time, but he has really strengthened now he has had time to develop and should make a nice spring 3YO. We will take him as he comes and see where we end up." Purchased from the draft of Newgate Farm for $500,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, the well-bred colt is the first foal to race from the Gr1 VRC Oaks-placed Golconda (Snitzel), herself a daughter of the Gr2-winning, Gr1-placed Eureka Jewel (Semipalatinsk). Clearly a pedigree that is held in high regard, James Harron Bloodstock went to $975,000 earlier this year to secure the yet unnamed ful- brother. While the mare lost her most recent foal (by Written Tycoon), she is currently back in foal once again to the Champion Sire elect.
