  • Matterhorn Imposing for Kensington Rivals

    Wednesday, 28th July 2021

If nothing else, just the name Matterhorn is suggestive of a tough opponent to conquer. In the case of the Kris Lees-trainer Matterhorn at Randwick’s Kensington meeting in Sydney today, the son of Westbury Stud’s Swiss Ace (Secret Savings) is living up to his moniker. Bred and raced by Gerry Harvey, the lightly-raced 5YO gelding has won three of his first five starts and finished runner-up in another. With the services of runaway Black Type Jockey Premiership winner James McDonald, he looks a cut above his rivals in Race 6 after a soft 1.25-length win at Canterbury two weeks ago, and he should be as fit as a fiddle at his fourth start in Australia since being exported from New Zealand. Unibet’s Breeding&Racing clients can access a Runner Uplift for Matterhorn who is a clear market favourite.
