  • Price And Kent Stick to Parlophone Knitting

    Wednesday, 28th July 2021

Successful in the Listed Lightning Stakes at Morphettville 12 months ago, the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr trained Parlophone (I Am Invincible-Roulettes, by Flying Spur) will resume on Saturday, aiming to win back-to-back runnings of the race. Having not recorded success in her five starts since her Listed victory in July 2020, connections have nominated the rising 4YO mare for Saturday's race, and if successful, she will become the first to win the Listed event in consecutive years, which is open to 2YOs and 3YOs. Won in the past by the likes of Group 1 winners Nature Strip (Nicconi) and Viddora (I Am Invincible), the 3YO filly is one of 22 initial nominations. "She didn't come up last time for one reason or another, but we think she's going super," Kent Jr said. "She's had three jump outs at home. She's done plenty of work. She's fit, she's muscled up, she looks well, she's sound, clean winded." A half-sister to Telemon Thoroughbred's Sun City (Zoustar), who will be represented by his first crop foals in the coming season, Parlophone hails from a heavily-laden black type family which includes stakes winners Royal Discretion (Royal Academy), Sir Frenchie (Choisir), Vezalay (Shamardal) and Albany Reunion (Fastnet Rock), to name but a few.
