  • Hosier Looking To Continue Unbeaten Run

    Friday, 6th August 2021

With three starts in Australia, for three impressive winning performances, the promising Robert Hickmott-trained Hosier (Camelot-Time Ahead, by Spectrum) is chasing to extend his unbeaten local run when he tackles the Member Justin Hoy Trophy (2000m) at Flemington. Raced by the Williams family, the 5YO gelding was sixth on his racetrack debut to Tiger Moth (Galileo) at Leopardstown, with that winner then finishing second in the Gr1 Irish Derby at his next run, followed by Gr3 success before heading to Australia for Aidan O'Brien and running second in the Gr1 Melbourne Cup. That clearly highlights that Hosier's form is 'Cup-worthy.' Making his local debut at Bendigo in early June where he won by 5-lengths, Hosier progressed to victory at Bendigo followed by success at Sandown, with his three aggregated victories were by in excess of 13 lengths. Saturday's race of 16 plus four emergencies does not look an easy contest in the slightest, but off his recent form, Hosier has been installed the short-price favourite to continue his unbeaten run and surprisingly, only one other runner, the Peter Moody-trained Perennial (Per Incanto-Forever And Ever, by Monsun) is under double figure odds.
