  • Vinery & Arrowfield Sires Top 21-22 BTP Board

    Tuesday, 17th August 2021

Two weeks into the new racing season, and Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard and Arrowfield Stud’s retired Not A Single Doubt head the 2021-22 Black Type Sires Premiership. In a packed field, expected at this point, the Hunter Valley duo find themselves leading on 11 points each. All Too Hard’s points are courtesy of Behemoth’s Gr3 Spring Stakes (1200m) win (7 points) at Morphettville and Too Good Too Hard’s third placing in the Gr3 Aurie’s Star (1200m) at Flemington a week earlier. Not A Single Doubt picked up 11 points on Saturday with a winning double: Gimme Par in the Gr3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield and Samizdat in the Listed Belmont Newmarket (1200m) at Belmont. Snapping at their heels on 10 points each are The Oaks Stud’s Darci Brahma whose daughter Sierra Sue claimed the Gr2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m), and former Aquis Farm shuttler Dream Ahead. His son Phobetor won the Gr2 Missile Stakes. Rounding out the top five is Arrowfield Stud’s Snitzel on 9 points after Generation’s third in the Gr3 Vain Stakes (1100m) and Away Game’s runner-up in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes (1200m) on Saturday, following the week before when In The Congo and Remarque filled the minor placings in the Listed Rosebud (1100m). Snitzel is also the current leader of the 2021-22 Australian General Sires prizemoney-based leaderboard having already passed the $500,000 mark.
