  • Dubbo Cup For Flood Affected Gentleman

    Tuesday, 7th September 2021

Co-trainer Desiree Kearney had to shift her stables to Dubbo after the devastating Hawkesbury floods six months ago, but the new location is working wonders on Heza Gentleman (Nicconi-Silk Spun, by Hard Spun), according to racingnsw.com.au. "The change in location seems to have agreed with this horse; I can't explain it, but he seems so mentally switched on now," Kearney said. "He showed a lot of fight to lead all the way at Randwick. The runner-up looked to have him at the 200 metres, but he went up another gear, pulled away and won well. He's a versatile horse and loves a wet track. He's OK on the dry but much prefers a rain-affected surface – hopefully, there's a bit of rain about for Dubbo." The Dubbo & Gilgandra Toyota Gold Cup over 1600m will be held next Sunday, and Heza Gentleman is in form having won twice and placed four times in his eight starts since the forced stable relocation. All up, Heza Gentleman has won four of his 32 starts and has earnings over $100,000.
