  • Run to The Rose Brimming with Quality

    Thursday, 9th September 2021

With all five winners of the 2020-21 Groiup 1 races held for juveniles accepting to race this Saturday, four will line up against each other in what will be an exciting running of the $200,000 Gr2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Kembla Grange. With the winner of this year's race set to join an illustrious list of previous winners including Rothfire (Rothesay), Bivouac (Exceed And Excel), Astern (Medaglia d'Oro), Exosphere (Lonhro), Hallowed Crown (Street Sense) and Pierro (Lonhro) – all Group 1 winners, the strength of this year's field highlights what an exceptional crop of 3YOs we currently have. Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside (Extreme Choice-Nothin Leica Storm, by Anabaa), Sires' Produce Stakes victor Anamoe (Street Boss-Anamato, by Redoute's Choice), Captivant (Capitalist-Speedboat, by Commands), winner of the Champagne Stakes and Converge (Frankel-Conversely, by Shamardal) who won the JJ Atkins Stakes, the final crescendo of the juvenile season, will all make a play for victory come Saturday. The market currently has Godolphin's colt Anamoe as the favourite ahead of the Waterhouse-Bott trained Converge, both of which will race first up, while the highly touted Remarque (Snitzel-Response, by Charge Forward), a last third in the Listed Rosebud, is high up in the market. That trio is ahead of the likes of the two previously mentioned Group 1 winners Stay Inside and Captivant, as well as the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and Gr3 winner Shaquero (Shalaa-Fimatino, by Not a Single Doubt), last start Gr3 San Domenico Stakes winner In The Congo (Snitzel-Via Africa, by Var), and more – what an exciting contest to come!
