  • Spendthrift MyRacehorse Super Stable Partner

    Friday, 17th September 2021

Spendthrift Australia, underpinned by the long reach of its globally significant parent company in the United States, is a partner in the newly launched MyRacehorse Super Stable. With an initial valuation of $5 million, the collection of 26 racehorses is being marketed as “a rare ownership opportunity offering Group 1 winning bloodlines from Australian and International runners including Written Tycoon, Lonhro, Fastnet Rock, American Pharoah and So You Think.” Racing fans that embrace the world-first concept can invest as little as a one-off $150 to purchase a 0.001 percent share-holding – there are no ongoing training fees – in the twenty-six 2YOs to be trained by Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra. Commenting on Spendthrift Australia’s involvement, its general manager, Garry Cuddy, enthused, “I am very excited by this partnership with Hesket Bloodstock, MyRacehorse, and Spendthrift. David and Jenny Moodie are breeders I have admired for many years, it actually dates back to the first Golden Slipper I attended as an 8-year-old in 1996 and their horse Paint ran second to Merlene. Since that day I have followed their colours, watched them create pedigrees by racing generations of families with continued success, and many of the pedigrees are included in this package which highlights the quality of bloodstock on offer.” Noting the quality of both sires and dams in the pedigree of the horses involved, MyRacehorse CEO, Michael Behrens, said, “The Super Stable is an exciting product to launch on the brink of the Spring Racing Carnival. Our hope is that it has a positive impact on racing fans to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership in not one but 26 regally bred horses.”
