  • A Temptacion For Punters in WA Derby

    Friday, 9th April 2021

Trainer Dan Morton believes his 3YO filly Temptacion (All Too Hard-Fit and Ready, by More Than Ready) can upset Gr2 WA Derby hot favourite Western Empire (Iffraaj-Western Jewel, by Jeune), reports rwwa.com.au. Temptacion ran third last start in the Gr3 WA Oaks behind Lunar Impact (Real Impact-Moonsong, by Redoute's Choice). "That was her first run over ground and sometimes you need to go over it once to get it right," Morton told The Races WA. "I thought she went terrific and she wasn't beaten that far. She has come on since the run and I couldn't be happier, she's in good order and as well as I can get her. Everyone has to come up to Western Empire, but I don't think this is a vintage edition of the race. I believe this is my best chance of winning the race and I can't fault her." Temptacion will be ridden by Chris Parnham who has been aboard the filly in all her three wins to date, as well as her last start third. Temptacion is a $300,000 graduate of the Vinery Stud draft at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and is a sibling to group winners Outrageous (All Too Hard) and Very Tempting (Redoute's Choice).
