  • Boss Sticks With Hang Man

    Friday, 14th May 2021

Having made the move to be based in Queensland during the Brisbane Winter Carnival, Glen Boss' book of rides for Saturday's Doomben meeting is quite strong including the Michael Morney-trained Hang Man (Windsor Knot-Halliard, by Halling) in the Gr3 JRA Chairman's Trophy (2000m). A winner of the Gr3 Easter Cup two starts back at Caulfield, Boss had hist first ride aboard the 7YO last time out when a narrow third in the Gr3 JRA Plate at Randwick behind Paths Of Glory (Mastercraftsaman), with the second placed Zaaki (Leroidesanimaux) winning the Gr2 Hollindale Cup with utter ease at his next start. A winner of three of his last five starts, and nine in total from 34 starts, Boss will jump the race favourite away from barrier three, with the second favourite being the Mill Park Stud-bred and Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Warning (Declaration Of War-Livia, by Galileo), who is aiming to put his campaign back of track, not having won since his 3YO days when successful in the Gr1 VRC Derby. Won in the last two years by the Chris Waller-trained Le Juge (Dansili), the champion trainer will be represented this year by So You Win (So You Think-Rhode Island Red, by Tale Of The Cat) and Alward (Aqlaam-Sharedah, by Pivotal), to be ridden by James McDonald and Kerrin McEvoy respectively.
