  • Pair of Expensive Sebrings to Debut

    Friday, 13th August 2021

The Connect Tel Maiden Plate at Geelong today features several interesting debut runners including a pair of expensive Sebring (More Than Ready) early season 3YOs. First Platoon (Sebring-Miss Rose de Lago, by Encosta de Lago) was sold by Widden Stud for $625,000 at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and is the first foal of dual Group 2 winner Miss Rose de Lago. The early favourite for the race is Hyderabad (Sebring-Divya, by Danzero) who was sold by Kia Ora Stud for $560,000 at the same sale as First Platoon. A full-brother to Listed winner Candika, Hyderabad is out of a city-winning half-sister to Group 2 winner Astrodame (Flying Spur). Also of note in the field is debut runner Hezagem (All Too Hard-Gem of Gems, by Peintre Celebre) who is half-brother to Group 1 winner Precious Gem (Econsul), while British Columbia (Vancouver-Blowin in the Wind, by Danehill) is a half-brother to Listed winner Theanswermyfriend (High Chaparral).
