  • Frankel Filly on Debut At Pakenham

    Thursday, 18th March 2021

Steinem (Frankel-Thai Noon, by Dansili) will make her debut today in Pakenham Racing Club's Cormack Plumbing Maiden Plate over 1400m. The 3YO filly was sold by Esker Lodge at the 2019 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for $400,000 to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock, and is the first foal of her imported winning dam. Thai Noon is a daughter of Listed winner Alsace Lorraine (Giant's Causeway-Mer de Corail, by Sadler's Wells) whose dam is also a stakes winner. Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Steinem will be ridden by Jye McNeil. Frankel's oldest crop are northern hemisphere 7YOs, and include twelve Group 1 winners among his 60 stakes-winners. In Australia and New Zealand, Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) has had 34 runners, 21 winners and six stakes-winners including Group 1 Metropolitan winner Mirage Dancer (Frankel-Heat Haze, by Green Desert), recent Yulong-owned Group 2 winner Hungry Heart (Frankel-Harlech, by Pivotal), Group 2 winner Miss Fabulass (Frankel-Samantha Miss, by Redoute's Choice), as well as Finche, Frankely Awesome and Significance. The Australasian stakes-winners to runners is almost 18 percent, an indication of just how pre-potent Frankel is.
