  • Galaxy Work for Written Tycoon's Son

Given an easy time in a Rosehill barrier trial on Monday, the Hawkes Racing-trained Dirty Work (Written Tycoon-Maidel, by Ad Valorem) looks to add that elusive Group 1 to his record when he lines up as a solid chance in in Saturday's Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens. Fifth when resuming, beaten a half-length in the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield in February where he just needed an out, the 4YO Spendthrift-owned stallion prospect had a banner campaign last time in with victory in the Gr2 Schillaci Stakes as well as a third at Group 1 level behind Hey Doc (Duporth) and Trekking (Street Cry). With only one placed performance from four second-up runs, the Tommy Berry ridden entire has improved in each and every campaign, and it would be no surprise to see him produce a very forward showing. While he has drawn barrier one, and with a wet track expected, the Hawkes Racing team would not start the $800,000 Inglis Easter yearling sale purchase if they felt he would not run a very solid race. Well in the market behind Chris Waller's race favourite Haut Brion Her (Zoustar-One in A Million, by Redoute's Choice) and the lightly raced stakes winner Wild Ruler (Snitzel-Gypsy Robin, by Daaher) for Snowden Racing, it would be no surprise to see Dirty Work only target Group 1 races this campaign with a possibility of him joining the Spendthrift Australia roster in the breeding season.
