  • And Beyond Stays in Tasmania

    Thursday, 24th June 2021

Covid restrictions will prevent unbeaten Tasmanian galloper And Beyond (Wordsmith-Privada, by Delago Brom) from running at Caulfield this Saturday, reports racing.com. "It was our intention to bring him, but we changed our mind earlier in the week," co-trainer Tanya Hanson said. "It was still a little bit up in the air with regard to COVID as to whether anybody could travel with him and we weren't sure if he'd even make the field. We'll give him another run in Tassie on Sunday and then there's another suitable race at Caulfield in two weeks' time again. We don't know how good he is but he's doing everything right and improving every time he steps out." Anyone who has visited Greater Melbourne, including stable staff, is unable to return to Tasmania without a mandatory period of self-isolation. And Beyond has won all of his five starts in Tasmania for earnings over $75,000. The 4YO gelding was purchased at the Magic Millions Tasmania Yearling sale for $14,000 and is the second foal and second winner for his unplaced dam who is a half-sister to Listed winner Twenty Grand (Weasel Clause-Private Nip, by El Moxie).
